Services

Our goal is to support individuals with disabilities in a residential setting, in order to encourage personal growth, and increase the individual's capacity for independent functioning, self-determination, productivity and community integration.

Family Living:

The Family Living Service entails the placement of an individual in the home of a surrogate or natural family provider who accepts and cares for this individual, and supports their personal growth. Aside from cultivating a long-term relationship with the individual, responsibilities include:

-Home safety
-Meal planning/preparation
-Money management
-Personal assistance
-Assisting with medication
-Community integration

Independent Living:

Individuals are supported in their own home or apartment. Our trustworthy staff will come in to provide support in the areas where assistance is needed. This may include, but is not limited to:

- Meal planning/preparation
- Grocery shopping
- Money management
- Domestic skills
- Medication management
- Scheduling and attending medical appointments

Our staff serve as role models, and mentor each person to help them maintain their valued independence.

Respite

Our Respite services offer relief and assistance for primary caretakers who might need a break from their care giving duties. Respite may also be utilized by our clients needing a temporary place to stay. Respite providers assume temporary responsibility for the delivery of daily activities that promote each person's health and safety. Respite care can be provided in the individual's home or the Respite provider's home.

Community Access:

Community Access services promote the development of skills to create valued social relationships and strengthen connections within the local community. We assist the individual in developing meaningful, sustained relationships with non-disabled community members who share common interests and goals. Also, we help individuals identify opportunities to define and pursue work-related goals by volunteering or researching activities which could lead to paid employment. Community Access services focus on assisting the individual in making progress toward his/her defined outcomes as described in his/her “meaningful day” by offering choices in the targeted goal areas. Typically Community Access services are provided in a 1 to 1 staffing ratio.

Community Access activities may include:
- Volunteering
- Classes/Education
- Learning new skills
- Pursuing hobbies and interests

Adult Habilitation:

Adult Habilitation services provide supports to assist the individual in making his/her definition of a "meaningful day" a reality. The service consists of daily functional and purposeful activities, including choice-making, community memberships which are specified by the IDT members that relate to his or her desired outcomes, interests and skills that lead to a reduction of dependence on paid services. ASI offers Adult Habilitation on a staffing ratio of up to 1 to 3.

Supported Employment:

Our Supported Employment Specialists assist individuals with the following:

- Developing job skills
- Writing a resume
- Interviewing for jobs
- Training for specific jobs, once hired

Our Supported Employment program helps people find a variety of jobs in their area of interest. The program's success is important in helping people with disabilities progress toward achieving greater independence and inclusion in their community.
